Commission Terms & ConditionsBy commissioning Ink n Sync, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms and conditions. These terms apply to all commission types, including character, couple, and party illustrations.1. Ordering & Payment
1.1 Payment Options
Clients may choose one of two payment structures:
• Full payment upfront before work begins.
• 50% deposit upfront + 50% after the first approved concept.
Work will not begin until the agreed payment is received. In the case of the split payment option, the final file will only be delivered once the remaining balance has been settled.
1.2 Pricing
Quoted prices are final for the scope discussed at the time of the quote. Any additions or changes to the original brief after work has begun may incur additional charges, which will be communicated and agreed upon before continuing.2. Process & Timeline
2.1 First Concept
You will receive your first sketch/concept within 7 working days of commission confirmation and payment. Working days exclude weekends and public holidays. Complex commissions (e.g. large party pieces) may take longer — this will be communicated upfront.
2.2 Revisions
Revisions are included during the sketch/concept stage and cover reasonable adjustments such as:
• Pose, expression, or composition tweaks
• Outfit or accessory changes
• Colour palette adjustments
• Minor design corrections
The number of included revisions will be confirmed in the commission quote. Major redesigns or changes to the original brief are not covered under standard revisions.
2.3 Communication
Timely feedback keeps your project on schedule. If no response is received within 14 days of a revision/approval request, the commission may be marked complete and the final version delivered as-is.3. What I Will & Won't Draw
3.1 Will Draw
• Original characters (OCs), fan characters, D&D/TTRPG characters
• Couple portraits and romantic (non-explicit) content
• Party/group illustrations
• Human, humanoid, elf, and fantasy species characters
• Mild gore / dark fantasy themes (case-by-case basis)
3.2 Won't Draw
• Explicit sexual (NSFW) content
• Hateful, discriminatory, or harmful pieces.
Ink n Sync reserves the right to decline any commission request without obligation to provide a reason.4. Cancellations & Refunds
4.1 Client Cancellations
• Cancellation before work has begun: full refund (or deposit refund for split-payment clients).
• Cancellation after first concept is delivered: deposit is non-refundable. If full payment was made upfront, a partial refund reflecting work completed will be issued at Ink n Sync's discretion.
• Cancellation after lineart/colouring stage: no refund will be issued.
4.2 Artist Cancellations
If Ink n Sync must cancel a commission for any reason, a full refund will be issued regardless of progress stage.5. Usage & Copyright
5.1 Ownership
Ink n Sync retains full copyright over all artwork created. The client is granted a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the artwork for the purposes agreed upon at the time of commissioning.
5.2 Permitted Use
• Personal use and display (social media profiles, desktop wallpapers, etc.)
• Posting online with clear credit to Ink n Sync
• Non-commercial sharing
5.3 Prohibited Use
• Selling, re-selling, or profiting from the artwork without written permission
• Using the artwork for AI training datasets
• Claiming the artwork as your own creation
• Commercial use (merchandise, branding, etc.) unless a commercial licence is purchased — please inquire
5.4 Portfolio Rights
Ink n Sync reserves the right to display completed commissions in the portfolio, on social media, and in promotional materials. If you require privacy, please inform me before commissioning and a private arrangement can be discussed.6. File Delivery
Final files are delivered digitally in high-resolution PNG format unless otherwise agreed. Files will be sent via the agreed communication channel (Email, Reddit, or Facebook) once all payments are complete. Ink n Sync is not responsible for files lost after delivery, please save your files promptly.7. Chargebacks & Disputes
Initiating a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue directly with Ink n Sync is considered a breach of these terms. Please reach out via email or the platform used before escalating. Ink n Sync is committed to resolving issues fairly and promptly.8. Changes to Terms
These terms may be updated periodically. The version in effect at the time your commission is confirmed will apply to that commission. The latest version will always be available on the portfolio site.
